To Know Another

They shut down
The lines of communication go dead
And I wonder why
I can only see red
The light through the backs of my eyes
Warms and glows
And I turn away
Chills grip my arms
My legs go silent
My lips reach out in desperate loneliness
Fingers go searching for that warmth again
Arms flailing for that hope again
Hands dreaming of purpose again
Emotions rend
Souls do comprehend
But empathy is not their friend
So they drift
And the plague carriers bleed out in the sift
And no one is there to lift
No one's there to share the plague gift
The eye
Superficial window
Hollow like it's values
It is truths greatest enemy
For it is the conduit for all lies
And though it is dangerous to underestimate the ears
It is fatal to forget the eyes
So chain that gaze
Weight it with the burden of what you do not want
Bind it to the path of sin
Send it into hell and out again
Torment it
Those evil eyes
Torture them
With all that they despise
For is must be seen
It must be caught
That plague
That the man brought
It can't be captured by ear
Nor can it be devoured
It must be reflected
It must be bent
It must be cast through lights vent
For to understand the glory
Of life's torment
A glow must be remembered
An illness saved
